Advanced Canyon Adventures
Real adventure for people with good fitness and water skills or a big positive attitude…
Our longest and most committing adventure yet. Total ‘deepness’ for several hours in the heart of the wilderness. Less about sliding or jumping, more about adventuring… Previous experience would be helpful. Excellent fitness and a positive attitude are good too! Did we say no-one else guides trips like this..?
- Season 1 Dec to 15 April
- $690 per person, min 2 people
- 7am to 6pm approximately
- Age 16 years and over
- This is a committing canyon with no exits and requires 2 guides for safety reasons
Our most advanced trip and the most difficult guided trip in NZ, it is strenuous, challenging and technical. After an approach that can take up to 2 hours, you’re usually in the canyon for 5-7 hours. There are many abseils (rappels) up to 35m (100’) high. Jumps up to 8m (25’) and more challenging scrambles and climbs through the canyon. This is an aquatic canyon with swimming in turbulent water.
A day trip in Mill Creek, Leaping Burn or Robinson Creek is suggested prior to Ore Stream.
- Season 1 Feb to 15 April
- $890 per person, min 2 people
- 8.00am to 4.30pm
- Age 18 years and over.
- This is a committing canyon with no exits and requires 2 guides for safety reasons
A physically magnificent canyon carved deep into mother earth. At times you can’t see the sky, at others you’re a fly on the wall. The jumps need commitment. You’ll get hammered in waterfalls. You’ll be blown away – no doubt!
