Current Conditions December 2016

It’s officially summer and we are STOKED! Recent rain and snow has resulted in high water levels, so our canyons are crankin’. We’re active on Niger Stream and Big Nige, with double-guides running the Leaping Burn until water levels stabilize. In the Haast Pass region we’ve already had some epic Wai-rata Heli Trips this season, beautiful as always. We’re up and running in Cross Creek, Imp Grotto, Robinson Creek, and the ultimate canyon, Wilson Creek. Mill Creek will begin running in January when the flows settle down a bit. Conditions continue to be variable as we ease out of spring, and high flow rates currently apply in some canyons, but it looks like another awesome summer in Wanaka!
